Firefighter
Shane Murray

The Jefferson City
Fire Department lost a dear friend and brother on March 1, 2002. Firefighter Shane
Murray was operating inside a structure fire when he and 2 other firefighters were
envolved in a flashover. Shane was loved by everyone in the department and will be
sorely missed. There was seldom a time he didn't have a smile on his face. His
commitment to our community was unwavering. He gave his life doing what he loved the
most: Helping others. Shane dedicated a large part of his life and all of his
heart to the fire service. The outpouring of love and support from our fellow
firefighters and the citizens from all over Tennessee and beyond has been
tremendous. The firefighters of the Jefferson City Fire Department would like to
thank everyone for their support during our time of mourning a lost brother. There
are so many and we hope to list them all in the future. We will never forget you,
Shane. You are forever our brother. We will always love you!
