Our Mission Statement
To Protect the Citizens and Visitors of Jefferson City from the
Adverse Effects of Fire, Natural and Man-Made Disasters, and to Provide Effective Fire
Prevention Opportunities Through Public Fire and Life Safety Education.
Serving the city since 1909, the Jefferson City Fire Department is a
combination department, made up of both career and paid-on-call firefighters. The
department is currently rated an ISO Class 5. The department operates five front
line apparatus out of one station, located at 112 West Broadway Boulevard. Jefferson
City firefighters respond daily to various calls for service, including fires, medical
emergencies, and automobile collisions.
Our goal is to continue to provide prompt, professional, and courteous
response to the citizens and visitors of our growing city. In order to continue to
provide a professional level of service in the future, our department is constantly
growing and striving to improve through equipment purchases, training, and

On behalf of the
Jefferson City Fire Department, I would like to thank you for visiting our website.
The Jefferson City Fire Department is a combination fire department, made up of thirty
highly-trained, dedicated career and reserve firefighters serving our community.
Through fire response and suppression, emergency medical first responder services, vehicle
extrication and rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, and public fire education and
prevention, the members of the Jefferson City Fire Department strive to achieve the
highest level of customer service.
As the Fire Chief, I
ask you to take a look at the services and opportunities the department has to offer.
Whether it is fire extinguisher training to local employers, fire and life safety
inspections at businesses, free smoke detector installations, or emergency response and
operations, you can expect us to be responsive to your needs. The men and women of
